Seemyshell (00:01.312)
Welcome to the official Munzee podcast.
Rob (00:03.597)
I'm Rob, also known as Coach V, your host and the president of Munzee.
Seemyshell (00:07.406)
And I'm Craig, also known as Seemyshell, I'm an avid Munzey player and I'm here to explore the game further.
Rob (00:12.323)
Each week we'll delve into Munzee's mysteries, divulge some secrets, and inform players from around the world just what is coming your way.
Seemyshell (00:19.31)
So sit back, relax, have a cup of coffee, have a cold beverage, whatever you like. Today we're to talk to Rob about some Whittles feedback as well. The new Nutcracker mailbox is still out there and needs to be had. And so also a new, what's this? A new story land myth. Rob, Rob, Rob. G'day buddy.
Rob (00:38.083)
Yeah, Jack Frost is nipping at your nose. Aren't you excited? Yeah. Good times.
Seemyshell (00:41.486)
Only the frost is only happening in the Northern hemisphere Rob, not the Southern. I'll tell you now a shout out. I'll say this now a shout out this week to Australia and especially the East coast of Australia. Rob, they hit temperatures over there like 40 degrees Celsius, which is over the hundreds like throughout the entire East coast over the last this during this week. So yeah, they've had a big heat wave down there, big heat wave. Yeah.
Rob (00:48.155)
Tis true.
Rob (01:00.719)
Yeah.
Rob (01:07.259)
Wow, good time to get to the beach.
Seemyshell (01:09.87)
Yes, although it gets too hot on the beach too, I will say. So there you go. I was never, I lived and grew up along the beach, Rob, hardly ever went. I'm not a beach goer. I'm a pool guy. I'm a pool guy.
Rob (01:20.091)
That's that's kind of how our California team is like that. When when I used to go out there and the players, too, I was like, let's have an event like over toward the beach somewhere. Let's all meet up. And they were like, why on earth would we do that? We've lived here for 20, 30, 50 years. We don't go to the beach. Why? It was like, sorry. Yeah. So makes sense.
Seemyshell (01:27.886)
Mmm.
Seemyshell (01:36.642)
Yeah. Yeah.
Seemyshell (01:44.747)
I can't even surf Rob, I've never even tried, can't even surf, there you go.
Rob (01:47.099)
I wasn't good at it. Tried it in Hawaii. Wasn't good. Nope.
Seemyshell (01:51.306)
Mm-hmm. Yeah. Over 40 years living literally within 10 minutes of a beach with beautiful waves and yeah, never, never surfed. So anyway, Rob, look, we digressing already. Wow. Wow. Wow. Make that I can see now you're back. You're back in the good old UK, England, whatever you want to call it, because it does go by various names, but anyway.
Rob (01:59.776)
Wow. Yeah.
Rob (02:11.439)
Yep. Yes. Yes, I am. bundled up because it is cold outside. it was cool in Florida last week had a little, cool wave that came through, but, this is quite a bit different and this is back to the normal temperatures. So yeah, back home.
Seemyshell (02:17.443)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (02:23.298)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (02:27.98)
There you go. There you go. Last week after the Whittles came out, I'll tell you now, was one of those guys, Rob. I was one of those guys. had to get every single one up to every single level. within the space of maybe a couple of hours after they released, I've got all eight Whittles at all level 10. So I can't get any more now unless I do my stars. saying. You can't find it.
Rob (02:48.335)
well.
Let me find my surprise face. Where is it? I know it's around here somewhere. Yeah, not surprising at all. Is it you? there's a handful of other people like you that went ahead and got all, every single one of those. That's 80 Whittles that you guys put out on the map. And that's a great thing because you set the Whittles workshops up to be full, which is great.
Seemyshell (03:00.141)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (03:03.789)
Yeah.
Seemyshell (03:10.658)
Yeah. Yeah.
Seemyshell (03:17.676)
Yeah.
Rob (03:18.731)
we're working now through the five days that's happened. And, so a lot of those are going to start to archive. And, by the time people are listening to this, the Whittles workshops will only continue to be full if everyone gets out there and keeps working at the Whittles whittling away.
Seemyshell (03:22.296)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (03:26.615)
Yes.
Seemyshell (03:36.718)
Exactly. And I had a question actually asked of me yesterday, Rob as well. And that is that the person was going to use, they were going to use 65 stars to get another widow. When I said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
with stars when the higher the level. the more levels you get, then the cheaper they're going to be. So I personally, Rob, this is my personal opinion. I would not spend 65 stars on a widow. 65 stars is way hard to get. I'd rather get the 150 Z and then get the widow from the 150 Z just release once a week, 150 Z once a week. That's all you need people. And you get the residual points from there. So anyway, look, I'm getting the tips in already Rob before.
Rob (04:08.763)
Mm.
Rob (04:29.273)
I we've we've jumped so far down the list of things to talk about, and we haven't even really said the cool things about what we are doing this week, what we have been doing. So let me push us back in that direction. I've been putting together the clan requirements because by the time people are listening, those have gone live. I'd just like to remind everyone there's method behind the madness. Don't forget.
Seemyshell (04:39.346)
No, no. OK.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Rob (04:58.041)
I promise I know what I'm doing. There are things that will be happening in December and it's going to be actually a really fun month. We've got some really cool things to end the year.
Seemyshell (04:58.606)
here we go again.
Seemyshell (05:06.761)
Uhhh...
Seemyshell (05:11.682)
Mmm.
Seemyshell (05:15.17)
You just eat, Rob, Rob, you just want more chitchat on the water. Cool. That's all you want because, I will say this as well. You know, when Monday does something right, because you release something like as big as the widows, for instance, you release it and then not much is said. There's not really that much talk. So the less talk, then the better it is. People don't go out there out of their way to praise. And this happens throughout the entire world. Every business happens, you know, you can go and eat, eat your Chinese shop, for instance.
Rob (05:18.863)
Ha ha ha.
Rob (05:38.139)
Yep. Yep.
Seemyshell (05:44.256)
Is it the best Chinese shop around? Yes, it is. Do you have a review on Yelp for that Chinese shop? Probably not. You know what I mean? Whereas if you have a bad experience with a Chinese shop, you're going to write a really review. Don't go here. There was whatever, you know what mean? So that's what I'm saying. No, no news is kind of good news in a way in that regard. So what I'm assuming though, because I haven't seen any of these clan wars stuff, what I'm assuming is Rob, you've, you've built up these clan wars again, as you said, you know,
Rob (05:49.487)
Right. Yeah.
Rob (06:03.363)
It's true. It's true.
Seemyshell (06:11.736)
trust in the process, et cetera, et cetera, which people don't. And therefore then you are going to reenact people's little typing fingers and on the water cooler to go, what are these clan wars about? What the hell am I gonna get this?
Rob (06:22.709)
Nah. No, I don't think I don't think it's going to be bad. I really don't. But there there will. There's always questions. There's always conversation that comes from it. And and I know that's going to happen this time. And it might make some people a little bit like, no, what are we going to do or how's this or what's this all about? Nothing massively new. Just just a few switching things up again, because
Seemyshell (06:29.656)
Okay.
Seemyshell (06:33.739)
Yes. Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (06:44.323)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (06:51.695)
That's clan requirements. That's keeping everybody, hopefully excited, keeping the chat going, hopefully for good things. Yeah.
Seemyshell (06:51.789)
Yeah.
Yeah. Keeping it real. Exactly. Exactly. Yep. Yep. Yep. Nice. Nice. Nice. meanwhile, Rob myself as well. you saw this, it came out to this week and that is geocaching headquarters. I know we don't really speak about that much on this podcast. And I will say this as well. They interviewed me in regards to my, my gift filming and et cetera, my social media stuff and all that sort of thing too. And I appreciate, GCHQ a lot.
But Rob, I did, I did mention as well that I do these podcasts with you at the official Munzee podcast with the president Rob, and it didn't make the cut for some reason. don't know why.
Rob (07:30.363)
I don't understand why geocaching doesn't want to promote the fact that you are doing a Munzee podcast with the president who just happens to also be a geocacher. I mean, like, come on, people, put a put a link to my profile in there. It doesn't say anything about being the president of Munzee and try out the other game and all that. No, no, no, no. So totally makes sense. I thought that your your article was amazing. It was really great. And
Seemyshell (07:40.206)
I know co-exist
I like it. I like it.
Rob (07:59.349)
to have had my name linked in there too. But you know, I understand. I understand how it goes to have been listed amongst the other geocaching celebrities. But yeah, congratulations. It was a great deal. And I'm excited that they have recognized you for, you know, what you've done over there for nearly 10 years. So it's cool. Yeah.
Seemyshell (08:02.144)
I know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Seemyshell (08:19.16)
Thank you, mate. Thank you, mate. Appreciate that. Appreciate that. Meanwhile, we've got our own thing to sort of, yeah, celebrate as well. Rob, this is, this is this one here, episode 48, 48.
Rob (08:29.243)
Yeah, it is. I'm I'm excited. And you know that my team didn't think that I could do this. They certainly we did 12 last year and they didn't think we'd even make 12. So the fact that we have completed 60 podcasts so far total is like amazing. So thanks. Thanks for thanks for pushing me to do this and for keeping us organized and on track and nearly 30 minutes every week. Yeah, nearly.
Seemyshell (08:35.647)
No, I know.
Mm-hmm. No.
Seemyshell (08:45.55)
60.
Seemyshell (08:49.366)
Yes, it really is.
Seemyshell (08:58.062)
Exactly. They've been ups and downs more, more, more over the 30 than under the 30. But anyway, yes. And now Craig and team at freeze tag there understand that I do have a lasso that I can actually lasso Rob and, and pull him in every single week, sitting down for the 30 minutes and we chat about Munzee. mean, you do it anyway, Rob, you do it. You chat for 30 minutes, a minimum every week anyway about it. So why not do it? You know, I want to do it officially.
Rob (08:59.163)
Ha
Rob (09:03.291)
Absolutely.
Rob (09:16.923)
Bye.
it's true. For the people to hear, I agree. And they might start bringing you into other meetings to try and control me a bit more there too. Wouldn't be a bad thing.
Seemyshell (09:27.95)
That's no, not at all. Cause I'd like to actually find out more information, but anyway, Rob, we're going to move on to the events from last weekend in USA. had California, Arizona, and Missouri and around the world we had.
Rob (09:42.711)
British Columbia, Canada, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, Osaka, Japan, and Victoria, Australia.
Seemyshell (09:49.772)
Before we move on to the leaderboards, Rob, the Osaka Japan one as well. I may have stood up a hornet's nest. I'm hoping, I'm waiting till listen to the next Munzee Maniacs podcast because Rob, we had the fountain pens. Remember there were the fountain pens and they scattered, et cetera. I put a couple of fountain pens at the event and I wrote on them. Actually, their heading is for Sarah only. So we'll see what PJ says. He capped them, he capped them. So we'll see if he mentions anything on the Munzee Maniacs podcast. And again, people.
Rob (10:13.892)
I love it.
Seemyshell (10:17.614)
You don't listen to it. I don't know why not. It's a great podcast. The Munzee Mania podcast links are in this description too. Rob the leaderboards over the weekend on Friday, we had HBRB with 269,000 points. Whelan or W Helen on 267,000 points and Munzee Prof is back on the leaderboard again with 219,000 points on Saturday, Rob.
Rob (10:23.236)
That's great.
Rob (10:39.259)
Saturday Hockey with 436,000 points, Q22, Q17, 421,000 points. I'm surprised you didn't do that one. But then again, here comes this name, Senigia Tattoo, 416,000 points.
Seemyshell (10:57.006)
No, it's not. And good that you read out the read out Q22's name correctly. So there you go. She'll be, she'll be excited with that. She does like it. She does like it. On Sunday, we had the man himself back up at number one, W Helen with 268,000 points followed by Vado Tech with 215,000 and Coal Cracker 7 on 210,000. These names you hear often on this show. So there you go. The events this weekend, Rob, is none. We don't have any. None in US.
Rob (11:05.37)
Yeah.
Seemyshell (11:26.752)
None around the world, because why? In between clan wars plus Happy Thanksgiving Rob too this week. Happy Thanksgiving mate. I forgot to say it before. Yeah.
Rob (11:28.13)
nowhere.
Rob (11:33.979)
Hey, since you're in the US, yeah, can say Happy Thanksgiving to you as well and to all of our, you know, American players. I know it was yesterday as you listened, but yeah, Happy Thanksgiving.
Seemyshell (11:41.656)
Yes.
Seemyshell (11:45.964)
Yeah, they can, they can wake up all bloated still from the big Turkey, Rob and sit back and relax and listen to this podcast. There you go. That's what can happen. the events coming up, some big events in Bournemouth, UK, December 7th, Bantok UK, December 14th, January 16th to 19th in Florida. That's getting bigger and bigger of this one now. five events, Munzey Mecca, Munzey Quest and Block Party in Sydney, Australia in January, Munzey Madness, California in March.
Rob (11:52.635)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (12:12.896)
May 3rd is Munzee in Uranus. And people have been already telling me Rob that they can't wait for this to want to be in go because I hate hear me say that, you know, it's in Uranus. But anyway, May 24th is Munstock in total and June 7th and 8th, the Ohio hosting the SOS events. All right, Rob, we're going to get on now to the developments from this week. What has happened this week? First and foremost in the Munzee world.
Rob (12:23.643)
I agree.
Rob (12:40.249)
Well, we kind of started on this at the beginning. Widdles, you know, we basically stuck to the topic of Widdles last week. So a little bit of feedback and, you know, just kind of wondering what you've seen because we did have one issue where it was the cap on points. And so that was the main topic of discussion, you know, and support tickets and everything. And the good news is that we've
Seemyshell (12:44.821)
Mm-hmm. Yes.
Seemyshell (13:01.506)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (13:09.891)
You know, we fixed that really just a couple of hours after launch. So the team jumped right on it because we, you know, we were excited. We were proud of the fact that we had such a clean launch. And then of course there was that one thing and yeah, that we're all human. Yeah. If only it was just computers, but Nope, we're human. So, so we fixed that. but yeah, then I truly haven't seen much. so I know.
Seemyshell (13:22.286)
you
Seemyshell (13:28.728)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (13:36.877)
No.
Rob (13:38.725)
Personally, I've enjoyed them. I've had a good time. I enjoy the collecting aspect of things I enjoy the mystery box feel of not knowing what I'm gonna get I enjoy the fact that I earned eight badges just from getting each of the eight I Added up. I think it's three other Whittles badges that have already received from both capping and deploying So yeah, 11 badges was a great start to this whole collection
Seemyshell (13:40.558)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (13:46.819)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (14:00.344)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (14:06.062)
Mmm.
Rob (14:08.667)
And so we'll assume that one, people have enjoyed it and two, that they like the badges. But yeah, what else have you seen or questions that you have from your stuff?
Seemyshell (14:23.532)
Well, the, the first question I saw on Facebook as well, and that was, people saying that, they were a bit confused in regards to the leveling Rob. they said things like, know, if I get like a level one or level two or level three, we'll, and then it gets archived in those five days. Do I go back to a level one? We'll, you know, I don't understand where their thinking is and where their mindset is, but the answer is purely no. They're just, whatever level you're at, that's what you stay at.
Rob (14:41.402)
Right.
Rob (14:48.505)
Yeah, absolutely. And if you go to a wishing well, then you can actually see it tells you what level each of your whittles is at and you can choose which one you want to redeploy. So that's the good part. It tells you what level it is. If you open an additional trunk, then you either get a brand new whittle or you level up one of the ones that you already have. So there is no.
Seemyshell (14:54.062)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (14:58.049)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (15:14.232)
Yeah. Yeah.
Rob (15:15.3)
no way to decrease the level of your widow which is great.
Seemyshell (15:20.108)
Yes. Yeah, exactly. And, it's kind of like you're saying, you know, with the whole, the cogs and the, and and the Mex, et cetera, as well with the blueprints. So every time people, you get a new level of Whittle, it's like a new blueprint. So you don't, you can't go backwards in this game. You can only go forwards. And so, you know, if you've got all 10 levels of, say, you know, the farmer, for instance, the farmer is always my example for some reason, but you've got 10 levels of the farmer. You can't deploy a level one farmer anymore. You can only deploy the level 10.
Rob (15:33.531)
Hmm.
Rob (15:44.027)
Haha.
Seemyshell (15:49.71)
You can only deploy the highest level of your app. It won't even allow you to do any others at all. So there you go. The only thing I was disappointed with me being so, you know, pragmatic in the terms of I had to get out there. I had to actually, you know, get all of them all at once. can't buy any more trunks. It won't let me buy any more trunks. So there you go.
Rob (16:05.551)
Yeah, yeah, I know. Once you once you make it to all eight of them at level 10, then, you know, it's like, OK, OK, enjoy your collection, you know, go out there, get the stars, release them. And so one of the things that like I would consider that is it's something, you know, through all my crypto trading days and everything is is is called averaging down.
Seemyshell (16:10.701)
Yeah.
Seemyshell (16:16.716)
Yeah.
Seemyshell (16:29.164)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (16:33.467)
You know what I mean? It happens in the stock market too, obviously, which has been around for a lot longer than crypto. But averaging down so that you paid for all 80 of those and you spent a considerable sum in order to do that. know, so. Yeah. Yeah, so so to those people who've already done that great, to those of you who are going, you know, 450 at a time or, you know, 900 at a time, I get that.
Seemyshell (16:35.704)
Yep.
Seemyshell (16:45.87)
12,000 zens. 12,000 zens. So yes.
Seemyshell (16:57.709)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (17:00.315)
Understand everyone's got their choice. They can play their way on this one but the way to Average those things down is to get those stars and to get more whittles, you know redeployed because you you had 80 And as those archive then, you know, you go out you put ten more out. Well now 90 cost you 12,000 zed and then a hundred cost you 12,000 zed so that average drops down
Seemyshell (17:13.23)
Mm.
Seemyshell (17:23.575)
Mm-mm.
Rob (17:28.653)
Obviously that's going to take a bit with the stars because you can't get 25 stars in a day for a level 10. You can't do it. Matter of fact, I'll just jump to this quick topic. Thanks to the cheaters out there who've made it really, really clear on your daily strolls by getting 25 stars in a day. Literally not possible.
Seemyshell (17:34.198)
No, no, no, no.
Rob (17:51.079)
so you've, you've basically raised your hand and waved your Whittle flag in the air and said, Hey, Rob, guess what? I'm using fake GPS and an emulator and I've put you on the bench. So whoopsie. But, yeah, back to the positive stuff. I know that, everyone might expect, you know, 10 caps, let's say per Whittle or, you know, high numbers. That's not reasonable for the first week. I would say.
Seemyshell (18:02.537)
wow. There you go. There you go. Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (18:19.689)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Rob (18:20.281)
because you put 80 out there, handful of other people put 80 out there. We've all flooded the map with Whittles. As those decrease, the Whittles workshops will be moving a little bit faster. All of these Whittles, don't forget they bounce every hour. So you have...
Seemyshell (18:23.723)
Yeah.
Yeah, true.
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (18:36.814)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (18:41.979)
119 opportunities for that whittle to be capped at a minimum. If it never got touched, it would bounce 119 times. be patient, look at those averages. Keep that in mind, I suppose. And if you're getting 10, you're probably really lucky for the first week. And if you're getting three, you're probably on the low end.
So hopefully we'll see the averages start to jump up because that is our expectation from the team side, which is the way that we built the cap on numbers and the capture numbers. Yeah.
Seemyshell (19:08.163)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (19:18.894)
Yep. No, that's perfect. That's perfect, mate. And, and as you said, like, yeah, it is a thing of numbers. So sometimes you're only going to get a few caps per Whittle itself, but predominantly Rob, this is where I think I've enjoyed now after it being five days yesterday for me, I had all these Rob, I've got over 1300 twigs now in my little inventory after yesterday, because all mine, the whole 80 of mine, you know, archived yesterday.
So I've got over 1300 twigs. And that was one of the other questions of me as well. And that was, you know, how many twigs can one accept, one predict from each widow being archived? Now, the twigs themselves, are they a random number of twigs or does the twigs represent the level of the widow when it gets archived? That was the other question that was asked as well.
Rob (20:07.067)
1300 did my math. Okay, good. So my math worked out. I was just jumping to the redeem store to check and see that didn't I priced that one thing the bank I priced the bank high enough didn't I so that it wasn't available on day one or day five. Okay, good. I was like, no, I put limits on things on purpose so that you know the couldn't get
Seemyshell (20:08.813)
Yeah.
Seemyshell (20:15.233)
Yes.
Seemyshell (20:20.202)
Yeah. No, no. Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Rob (20:33.303)
all the top tier stuff, all of it all at once. So, OK, that's great. Well, good. Honestly, I'm glad to hear thirteen hundred Zeds. That's probably on the top end because there is a short range of the number of of twigs that you can get as the as the Whittles archive. So, yeah. So so thirteen hundred is probably well, it's good on the average. It's
Seemyshell (20:35.03)
Yes. Yeah.
Seemyshell (20:40.462)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (20:54.862)
You're right.
Rob (21:02.907)
It might be even just simple 25 more than an average, something like that. 12, 1250 ish, maybe even.
Seemyshell (21:03.054)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (21:09.805)
Mm-hmm.
Well, I did put 81 out Rob on that first day because I did all the trunks and then I actually did the 25 stars for one as well. So I couldn't help myself. Yeah, yeah. So I did 81.
Rob (21:22.821)
didn't even think about that. Yeah. When I did the math, I didn't think about the fact that people could have an extra four deployed if they had a hundred stars and extra four deployed on that very first day.
Seemyshell (21:33.88)
For deployed. Yeah. If they go around to all the wishing wells that they've set up themselves and some people, Rob, I've noticed as well online have set up nice wishing well, you know, traps or wishing well tricks, you know, where they've literally gone out of their way to, and they go to each, driving location around in a loop or something like that as well. And they put, they put out a wishing well at each, you know, cause you, can be half a mile apart. So, you know, they go just over half a mile and then they sit there and go wishing one now, please.
Rob (21:45.701)
trails. Yeah.
Seemyshell (22:03.436)
They do that once a week in the lead up to this and now they're all set so that's perfect. I do and it's ideal because these wishing was a setup to everyone can cap them. You know what mean. They're in a location where people can cap. They're not, you know, and that's still that's still a contentious issue on the water cooler. But anyway, that's that's for another day. Mate, I will say this as well. And that is people need to use the muns decks now for your badges.
Rob (22:05.339)
Perfect.
Rob (22:20.997)
Yeah, yes it is.
Seemyshell (22:28.098)
the ones you've kept, ones you've deployed, et cetera. One of the questions was, know, got, some don't know where I got it from. Or sometimes you get that, that notification of a badge, but it doesn't come through the app properly. That happens to me. I go straight to the mums decks and bam, there it is. yeah, the mums decks, if you don't know what the mums decks is, that's okay. Go to the camp hub, which is where Cappy is. And down the bottom right-hand corner, you'll see like a green book and that's called the mums decks. You go in that book itself. It'll give you all your badges.
It'll also give you what I like with this as well. Rob is the fact that we'll give you the, what do call it now? I can't think. the, different things, the difference like other badges, well, scatter badges, know, featured badges, regular badges, bouncer badges, card badges. And it shows you all your recently awarded stuff too. there you go. Rob, you announced the gardens of the month this week as well. And guess what? I got two extra badges. Yeah, we go. Yes, yes, yes. Yes, I did.
Rob (23:07.171)
yeah.
Rob (23:18.504)
yeah, what?
Did you know? well, there's a source of Jack doesn't it gardens of the month. I don't know if you saw, but yeah, our our team is still getting used to all members of our team are still getting used to using cup as a the search feature doesn't abide by the completed only if you're looking at completed only and then you jump to search. So we learned that one the hard way. However, we did add a third. So if you didn't get three badges, then you actually missed the third one because we did.
Seemyshell (23:27.971)
Yeah.
Seemyshell (23:42.19)
Seemyshell (23:47.02)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (23:50.342)
I didn't see the third. I didn't see it. Actually, actually no, I did. I did get, wonder why, because I've got one badge on one day and one badge on the next. So that's the reason why. So I only got one badge initially and then I got retroactive with the badge as well. So there we go. And good, good, good job to those people out there who create these good looking guard Rob, good looking people. Listen.
Rob (23:52.987)
retroactive on Tuesday we gave one more so yeah surprise
Rob (24:04.266)
okay.
Okay.
Yeah, very good.
Seemyshell (24:17.39)
good looking gardens, gardens that people want to deploy them because they think it's a good picture. It looks, it's cute. It's pretty. It's whatever. Not these 5,000 pins because they'll never get done. And also Rob, another thing I, I, I, I'm, this is just me again. This is me personally, got nothing to do with anyone else. Get rid of the white background people, the white background, those white virtuals don't need to be there. And they just literally take up numbers. That's all they are.
get rid of that white background and have just the actual image itself, just the feature itself, not the white background. But anyway, that's my personal opinion, Rob. So there you go. Mm hmm.
Rob (24:49.115)
This true. And December, December's Garden of the Month theme is End the Year with a Bang. So for those who are going to try that one, End the Year with a Bang.
Seemyshell (24:57.07)
mm-hmm. Very good. All right, Rob, let's move along now. 25 minutes in, mate. Come on, come on. First of all, we'll say this. Yes, Nutcracker mailbox begins on Sunday. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you don't have it by now, get it. That's it. That's all it is. Yep.
Rob (25:03.893)
Yeah, yikes. Let's do these quick.
Rob (25:09.307)
Mm-hmm. Yep. So get it. It's it's $25. The total value is going to be 35 to 40 if I remember correctly from the prizes. Good prizes every single day. You get a greeting card is a unique greeting card. This is the only way to get them.
Seemyshell (25:20.216)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (25:29.009)
Mm-hmm. Fair enough, fair enough. So get yours now if you haven't already got it as well. The other thing with these Rob as well, they can, they're a mailbox so they can move with you. So are you traveling this season, especially around the holidays, get the mailbox and I can travel with you. Next minute, next minute, next topic Rob is Jack Frost's Storyland Myth. This was released on Wednesday.
Rob (25:48.419)
Yeah, so the Storyland myths have all had the same principles and you know pieces about them. This one is the same. It is a bouncer. It's available only for the next three weeks and that's in the freeze tag online store and it is $20.
Seemyshell (25:53.102)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (26:02.349)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (26:06.422)
And it's called Jack Frost and knowing Rob knowing what Rob does as well. If you try and, release this, actually, no, it's not, it's a myth. Not a mech disregard what I was going to say. I was going to talk about the mix, Rob, but anyway, that's for another day. yeah. Yes.
Rob (26:18.959)
Hey, hey, hey, let me, let me tell you one little secret. You never know what might happen during a frosty season in the north, the Northern hemisphere, even for all players and, and then let me remind you of the fact that, it isn't the frosty season down under Southern hemisphere. so there might be something special that will kick in January 1st for, those people.
Seemyshell (26:39.456)
No. Yeah.
Seemyshell (26:45.806)
there you go. You heard it here first. Very good. Very good. Rob, I saw that you have the Black Friday sales on now as well. Tell us a bit more about those quickly.
Rob (26:56.547)
Yeah, we do. So physical items because Black Friday is, you know, one of those things that started in going to a physical store years and years and years ago, the sale on on Black Friday in the U.S. the day after Thanksgiving. So we're doing physical items. That sale is running through Monday at noon. And then we're going to kick off the Cyber Monday sale Monday at noon because Cyber Monday.
Seemyshell (27:06.136)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (27:11.79)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (27:17.55)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (27:25.919)
is the online stores. You know, that's when they kicked this off years and years ago. So we're going virtual sales starting on Monday. It's physical sales on Friday through the weekend. This is a final chance to buy some of those physical stickers that are the pre-coded ones that I did a clearance sale a couple of weeks ago. Everything's going to be shipped from the UK. Apologies to those people who they're
Seemyshell (27:29.261)
yep, yep, yep.
Seemyshell (27:38.254)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (27:43.138)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (27:48.248)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (27:53.893)
Pre-coded generic stickers got really messed up by the postal systems that use an automatic sorter. They seem to have destroyed quite a few envelopes. I will take the blame for that because I am a six year rookie shipper and back in charge and I have taken steps to make sure that things go better. Also gonna have a discount on the Cappy plushies.
Seemyshell (28:13.518)
you
Seemyshell (28:19.224)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (28:22.231)
that are available for worldwide shipping. Unfortunately, the worldwide shipping is the part that is fairly expensive, but we're actually going to eat some of that cost to try and get more plushies to the people that want them for the holidays.
Seemyshell (28:22.539)
there you go.
Seemyshell (28:28.427)
Yes.
Seemyshell (28:33.166)
try and offset it. There you go. There you go. Very good. Now I will say this, if that's the case, Rob, and that is if your mail has, was damaged by those machines, they ate it up there. They wanted the stickers. went num, num, num, num, num. if yours was damaged like that as well, then it basically what send you an email, Rob sent a support ticket. What do they need to do? Mm hmm. This is true. You do. You even ignore mine, but anyway, yes.
Rob (28:50.853)
Support ticket. Yes, don't send me an email because I'll ignore it. Support support ticket, please. Those of you who send in support tickets, you get help because we can't help you if we don't know about it. We need your order number. Don't forget and a picture of the destroyed evidence. Very helpful.
Seemyshell (29:05.134)
Fair enough.
Seemyshell (29:08.61)
of course. Yes, exactly. Right. Exactly. That's fair enough too. all right, Rob, we're to move on now to the question of the week. And this one comes, comes from Lynn. Is it Janice? Join us Janice. I think it's Janice from Facebook. And they asked if the only thing you deploy on a day is a whittle and it goes uncapped before it archives. Does that affect your deploy street?
Rob (29:18.181)
Genesis, I think so, yeah.
Rob (29:30.107)
Probably. I am not 100. Yeah. I'm not 100 % sure, but I am going to go with probably leaning toward yes. And then my follow-up question is, is that likely to happen? And my answer to that is no, no, it is not likely to happen.
Seemyshell (29:31.544)
See, I didn't think this is right. Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (29:45.23)
It should be capped at least once in five days.
Rob (29:48.345)
It's never a good idea to only deploy one thing a day.
Seemyshell (29:51.416)
This true. This is true. This is true. Always deploy. always, Rob, I always use Cuppa Z. I go into Cuppa Z gardens. I pick out my favorite looking garden for the day and I deploy one in that, in a garden. That's what I do every single day. and Sam even knows that too. So he sees me do it too. So there you go. All right, Rob, we're to move on to the Munzee request. You ready for this? The request, I'll try and shorten it. It's from Bethany Lovegrove on Facebook. Firstly, she says, hi.
So that's the nicest part she put, but no, no, no. She wrote there, she's got a burning suggestion that she thinks is important and why not make the basic minimum capture radius of 500 feet for everything. The reason why she says it, she reckons it's gonna be less confusing for everyone if everything's at 500 feet. She wants happy older players. She said capping, road capping would be much easier. The use of magnets.
Rob (30:22.245)
Hi.
Rob (30:40.603)
you
Seemyshell (30:45.782)
We can, or she wants to also use magnets for scatters as well. I think that's what it says. the capture radius boosters as well. She says they don't last long enough. they, they also don't stretch far enough. 600 feet isn't far enough for her, but if it was 500 feet, it would be a thousand feet and that would be reachable pretty, pretty please. So that's, that's the kind of thing. she wrote down, she said a few others as well, but I'm just going to give you that for the time being. What, what, what's your thought process on.
Rob (30:50.075)
Mmm.
Rob (31:05.758)
You
Seemyshell (31:14.35)
putting everything wrong, everything. But if she means everything at 500 feet, does that mean the POI is go down to 500 feet? That was my question too. So, but anyway, what's your thoughts? What's your thoughts, mate?
Rob (31:21.859)
Right. And the airport, the airport goes from one mile to 500 feet. Anyway, there are a million things that we could pick at specifically in this request. However, what I'll say is no, that's, that's the simple answer. I don't see us doing this. I do not see us taking all virtual things to 500 feet. we have set, capture radius zones.
Seemyshell (31:25.62)
Yes. No.
Seemyshell (31:44.674)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (31:48.971)
on purpose throughout all the years. There are some of them that I hate as much as everyone else does. And the good news is you can avoid those if you do not like them. If you happen to be on foot, yeah, it's easier. The one of the points that she uses as a reason why this would be helpful and important is road capping will be much easier. And for me, that's
Seemyshell (31:50.424)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (31:54.381)
Yeah.
Seemyshell (31:58.744)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (32:13.613)
actually a reason not to do it because if road capping would be easier, we are encouraging people to actively play while driving. And I don't think that is a great look for the company. Do we know that it happens? Yes. Do I do it from time to time? Yes. Does that mean that it is a good idea and I am recommending it? Absolutely not.
Seemyshell (32:23.34)
Mm.
Rob (32:39.195)
We have not ever put anything in place to stop it because Pokemon Go makes it where you can't play when you're going a certain speed. Right. So everyone think about that. We could have that in place unless you push, you know, I'm a passenger. Unfortunately, even in Pokemon Go, I'm a passenger doesn't mean that you can play right. So.
Seemyshell (32:44.152)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (32:59.214)
wow. Could you imagine that as a passenger, you're going to your driver, please slow down. They're like, I'm doing the speed limit on a freeway. Please slow down. I'm not going to slow down. What? Yeah. That would cause, that would cause arguments. You want? Yeah. You're on a train. You couldn't. That's right.
Rob (33:10.672)
You're on a train. You're on a train. Right. There's a lot of things that would change quite a bit. So that's the reason that I would go with no. And in her reasoning, there's also a comparison of magnets and capture radius boosters and the timing that those last a magnet is it only draws four things and lasts up to an hour.
Seemyshell (33:23.138)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (33:32.077)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (33:37.326)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (33:39.163)
The capture radius booster last five minutes. I agree. That seems really short. What I think will come in 2025 with a lot of other changes is that we may see the stack ability of capture radius boosters, because I personally would like to have it run 30 minutes. Same as the virtual capture booster, you know, that kind of thing. But that would mean that you would have to go, OK, I'm going to use six capture radius boosters to have 30 minutes. So.
Seemyshell (33:44.088)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (33:58.382)
right, yes, yes, yes.
Seemyshell (34:06.1)
Yes. To have the 30 minute time limit. that would make sense, Rob, to be honest with you. Cause then you wouldn't have to go back and forward to check the time frame each time. Cause you'll watch that thing countdown. That makes sense. There you go. All right. Yes. Yes.
Rob (34:09.935)
Yep.
Rob (34:17.753)
Yeah. So here's what I would like to do before we wrap it up, though. I would like to put a topic out there for everyone. And I would I'm going to actually be looking to see conversation about this. So for those who stuck around to the end here, here's what I would like to ask you, because this is a twenty twenty five consideration. And that is to do the opposite of what's being requested, but only on the physicals. So take the three hundred foot
Seemyshell (34:25.005)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (34:30.882)
Mm-hmm.
Rob (34:47.705)
capture radius of physical Munsies and decrease it because someone please tell me why do you need to have a greenie that you can cap for 300 feet? Like that's pretty interesting, isn't it? And I know the reason because I participate. So I'm just going to say there are reasons why.
Seemyshell (34:49.838)
Rob (35:12.155)
That is to the benefit of players. And I'm not going to say that the loudest players about this supporting it are are, you know, I know why. I'm not going to say that because it's not necessarily true. But I would like to hear both sides of what people think about this. And here's my reason for talking about it is because the original 300 feet is based on 13 years ago, GPS signal on a cell phone was not reliable at all.
Seemyshell (35:14.684)
Mmm.
Seemyshell (35:23.714)
Hmm. Hmm.
Seemyshell (35:37.326)
Mm-hmm. of course.
Yeah.
Rob (35:42.273)
You and I both know what you weren't geocaching. So not at that point. But you I would have been laughed out of geocaching if all I had used was a cell phone to to to hide geocaches. And that was also true with Munzee. Like the coordinates could have been off by 50, 100 feet. It's on the wrong side of the road. It's all over the place. So.
Seemyshell (35:45.155)
Mm-mm.
Seemyshell (35:55.246)
Phone, Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (36:04.15)
Yeah. Yeah.
Rob (36:10.997)
That was necessary. We needed to have a range back then. However, our GPS is now like if you're not within five feet, you're doing something wrong on your device or you are around metal structures that are blocking the GPS.
Seemyshell (36:14.104)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (36:19.438)
Mm-hmm.
Seemyshell (36:26.578)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Especially, especially in, in urban areas, like big cities, et cetera. I was in New York city last weekend and yeah, my phone was bouncing around everywhere. Had me on the wrong street a few times, you know, and that happens when we get that. I think that's the only reason why it would need to be the 300 foot would be for those particular purposes. But I will say, Rob, and that is, you know, I've got, I've got my tree house on my letterbox out the front door. I wake up in the morning. I get my iPhone out because my iPhone is the best phone you can have in my opinion.
and a lot of people, a lot of people think differently. look at the window, Rob and I zoom in, use the app and I zoom in and it caps it from, know, a couple of hundred feet away. So that's, that's other, other than that, Rob, you ready for this? I'm going to play the fifth. there you go. Anyway. Yes. Yes. Very good.
Rob (36:53.368)
I'm
Rob (37:02.937)
You're hilarious.
Rob (37:10.155)
My mind's done that a time or two as well. Hey Munzee Maniacs, I want to know your opinion on this. So please let me know through your microphones and everybody else. Honestly, let's have, let's have a chat. Let's let's kick it around with being nice. Don't battle each other. We all know.
Seemyshell (37:24.856)
Exactly.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, we all know. We all know. We all know. Meanwhile, Rob, I'm to end it with the Munzee tip of the week. And my tip is to get your nuts cracked with the nutcracker. So it's perfect for travelers. As I said before, in this holiday season, get out there, get that because it's well worth the dollars as well. We'll say that too. and you get prizes every single day. You, if you've got it early before the first of December, you can deploy it and get 10.
points every single day and it goes towards your capping of that day as well. you only need to cap that once a day and that's just streak going to. So there you go. Get the nutcracker now in store. You've only got a few more days left. Meanwhile, Rob, that ends another official Munzee podcast.
Rob (38:05.317)
Thanks for joining us on this longer Munzee adventure.
Seemyshell (38:08.718)
Don't forget to subscribe, rate and review on your favorite podcasting app and join us next week for another informative episode.
Rob (38:15.635)
And remember, Munzee is more than a game. It's a worldwide community of mobile game players.
Seemyshell (38:20.632)
So keep scanning, keep discovering, keep that Munzey spirit alive. One, two, three, nutcracker on. crack on, I like crack on, close.
Rob (38:24.965)
Crack on! yeah, close. Yeah, right? crack on.
