Craig (00:00.973)
Welcome to the official Munzee Podcast.

Tim (00:03.251)
I'm Tim's substitute host and not the president of Munzee.

Craig (00:07.293)
I'm Craig, also known as Seemyshell, I started as an avid Munzee player, now proudly part of the team.

Tim (00:12.906)
Each week we'll delve into Munzee's mysteries, develop some secrets and inform players from around the world just what is coming your way.

Craig (00:19.663)
So sit back, relax. Today's episode is a special one. Why? Because it's only me and I'm chatting to the one and the only MNB, also known as Minnesota Boy, Minnesota Boy, Minnesota Boy, all about the physical side of Munzee. If you didn't know, Tim has joined the Munzee team as production and shipping as well. So we're gonna talk all about production, shipping, physical items, what you do, how you do it, where they come from, all of that sort of stuff as well.

Tim (00:29.402)
Mmm.

Tim (00:42.634)
All of that. All of it.

Craig (00:45.775)
But as always Tim, when Rob's here, we always like to say, know, what we've been doing in the last week or so. So, sir, what have you been doing in the last week or so?

Tim (00:51.96)
Yeah. Well, I've got a lot going on here. Personal life in my family, my daughter and son-in-law and grandson just moved to a new home. So they had some trouble, you know, with the signing of documents on certain urge. So they ended up living actually with us for about four days.

Craig (01:01.477)
Craig (01:05.644)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (01:10.597)
Ends it with

Tim (01:12.886)
Yeah, all three of them were living here and their moving van was parked in the driveway with all of their stuff in it. But now they are safely in their new place in just a couple of miles from here, which is just great. And so that's what's been going on. But besides that, I have had a couple of Munzee events here in December.

Craig (01:22.863)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (01:26.316)
Yeah.

Craig (01:33.189)
Munzey events outside in the cold winter's day.

Tim (01:36.362)
outside in the cold in December, especially the first one we did in the city of Glencoe. And you can go to my YouTube channel and see a video about this event if you'd like to. It was zero. It was below zero Fahrenheit. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yes. And Wendy and Josh looked at the, GCV looked at the video cause he wasn't there that day. And he said, look like you in Siberia.

Craig (01:42.755)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (01:50.501)
Fahrenheit, which is really below zero Celsius.

Craig (02:04.291)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Tim (02:05.194)
And it was, it was cold and windy, you know what? People still showed up. People still went out and kept flags to get the cake. You know, Munzee players are dedicated.

Craig (02:08.941)
Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, Yes, yes we are, we all are, especially those who listen to this podcast as well, very dedicated. Those who don't listen to the podcast, not so much, but anyway. Well, I'm still down in here in the south in Alabama, no snow down here, not that chilly at all. We had a couple of chilly days, went too bad. But my chicken coop is now all done. However,

Tim (02:19.565)
Yes.

Yeah, Craig, what have you been up to?

Tim (02:28.223)
Mm-hmm. Yes.

Craig (02:36.837)
I've now got the old chicken coop that I've got to work on for the ducks. And so I'm working on, I'm building like a duck pond that's actually inside, what do call it? a timber sort of patio area and yeah, all that sort of thing too. So building duck ponds and redoing duck coops. I'm like farmer Joe, Tim. I'm like farmer Joe.

Tim (02:37.004)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (02:52.11)
Wow.

Tim (02:58.814)
It is amazing what you found yourself doing down there now.

Craig (03:01.061)
I know, I know. Very different to working in the snow like you are up there in... Yeah, yeah, that's right. We'll also talk as well, Tim, today about your experience and your feelings about your... You're off the leaderboard now too because you're part of the Munzee team, so...

Tim (03:04.431)
Ha

yeah, we, we live with it every year.

Tim (03:19.212)
Yeah, yeah, I'm off the leaderboard. The only leaderboard I'm caring about now is the one that has Yumi and Rob on it.

Craig (03:25.445)
That's right, that's Meanwhile, Tim, we always go through these events last weekend. We had a Missouri and Minnesota and around the world, mate, we had.

Tim (03:34.638)
We had Ontario, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany and England.

Craig (03:39.625)
Mm-hmm. I know more events around the world than we had in the US. Leaderboards over the weekend, Friday, Dragon's West hit one million points, NZ Kiwi on second with 760,000 points, and rounding off in third place, Jaroslav Kas, a name I love to say, 670,000 points. And then on Saturday,

Tim (03:43.106)
Yeah.

Tim (03:59.374)
Saturday we have not Rob and Saturday. And said Kiwi went 1.5 million. Jaroslaw costed 1 million and Munzee Prof got in at third at 729,000.

Craig (04:01.694)
Tim!

Craig (04:09.196)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (04:15.168)
habits. I was gonna say Robin get habits. Tim they're hard to break. They're really hard. I know, I know, but you got the same amount of hair as Rob. So that's probably what it is too. Sunday, mate, we had I am full with 1.1 million points. Dragons West with 1 million points. And then Jaroslav Kas, again, rounding off third with 1 million points. was millionaires over the weekend, which is awesome to see. That's right.

Tim (04:17.356)
You do. Yeah, it's okay. It's okay. You can see my face right now. yeah, that is true. That is true.

Tim (04:39.148)
Yeah, I love them.

Craig (04:41.302)
Events this upcoming week and weekend, have New York, Florida and California and around the world, mate.

Tim (04:47.576)
Just one in Norway.

Craig (04:49.204)
in Norway. No way there's in Norway, but yes there is. All right, mate, let's dive into the world of Minnesota boy, Minnesota boy, Minnesota boy. First and foremost, mate, as I've always said, let us know a little bit about yourself and your YouTube channel and where you come from, that sort of thing as well.

Tim (04:51.896)
Yeah.

Tim (05:09.976)
Well, as my Munzey name there says Minnesota boy, am born and bred here in Minnesota, born in the city of Minneapolis, and I've lived in the Twin Cities Metro here my entire life. Met my wife here and is and we've just lived here our entire lives and so we live in a western suburb of the cities now. We've also lived in the northern suburbs and also near the University of Minnesota when we were young.

Craig (05:31.363)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (05:37.87)
Two kids, both adults. As I said earlier here, my daughter and her husband and my grandson, my only grandson, moved very close to us here recently and we're loving that. And my son and his girlfriend live on the kind of the eastern side of town near on the other side of St. Paul. And everything's going great with them. And so, yeah, I've lived here my entire life and work locally with my brother and a company that we have worked at for a long time.

Craig (05:39.073)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (05:50.007)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (05:55.97)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (06:07.544)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (06:07.598)
Um, my brother, probably heard of him as well. Gravity bear. Yes. Gravity bear. Another big month, another big Munzee player here in Minnesota. Um, but yeah, Munzee wise, I've been playing a long time and, you know, we have a, we have a big Munzee community here in Minnesota. We have events pretty much every month, if not more than one. Um, we have some of the biggest players in the world, like the number one player, W. Helen.

Craig (06:11.353)
yes, he is.

Craig (06:21.443)
Yeah.

Craig (06:27.374)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (06:35.665)
Mm-hmm. W. Helen.

Tim (06:37.806)
Lesh family, GeoMatrix, Danielle, we have so many big, big, big players here in Minnesota.

Craig (06:41.186)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (06:45.376)
Mm-hmm. And I think the reason for that as well is that they really enjoy Minnesota and people say, Minnesota there is so many munchies like it's I think it's the biggest sort of area for munchies in the world. I haven't been over to Europe, but I dare say it is. And the reason for it is because you big players all build out your own little nests, I call them, you know, your own areas where

Tim (07:05.357)
Yes.

Craig (07:07.17)
You're going to get the Skylands every day. You're to get the tree houses every day. You're going to get, there's lots of virtual items around you. So bounces can land on them every single day as well. A few players, big players have already set up the walking trails and stuff as well with physical greening. So you can cap those every single day. So that's what it's all about. Tim, I do believe like in Minnesota, people say, you know, how can I be like Minnesota? Well, start playing like Minnesotians.

Tim (07:32.318)
Yeah, it's really because a few big players started and just started building, building, building, building, building. And over the years, it just becomes a big thing. And of course, Munzee Mania, the big events we have here every year, that's a multi-event weekend. And that has just spread and spread and spread. So every place that one of those events has taken place is now just loaded with Munzees every time that moves around just a little bit. And boy, it's just crazy the amount of...

Craig (07:38.862)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (07:42.978)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Craig (07:50.445)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Tim (08:00.684)
play that is available here in Minnesota.

Craig (08:02.538)
Mm-hmm and touching on that as well and that is you do have a lot of good garden builders around in Minnesota as well lots of plenty of different gardens there and Likewise, if you didn't hear over the last in the last blog this week There's two gardens of the month for December had occurred and they were both from Minnesota now what happens with gardens of the month and Tim I don't think you even know this because you're not involved in this part of the gameplay and that is

Tim (08:09.462)
Yes.

Craig (08:28.512)
There's normally four or five gardens selected as finalists. And then the team discusses those four or five and we come up with the top one or top two, if that's the case. This month we came up with the top two, both just happened to be from Minnesota, one from a Geomatrix and the other one's from Lesh family. And there was another one in the mix. The other one in the mix was from Europe. I'll say this, it was from Europe. However, we have to remember the rules and regulations when it comes to garden building.

Tim (08:38.254)
Cool. Yep.

Tim (08:45.176)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (08:55.566)
you

Craig (08:57.92)
Yes, they all they all pass the rules and regulations in terms of had to have a POY more than 50 pins in it that have to be full they can't have any temporaries all those but this one it looks really look really really good and it was up there ready to go but We found out that it was more a copyright issue when it comes to the actual design. So you got to be careful Yeah, that that that little hidden a copyright

Tim (09:18.67)
Craig (09:24.012)
you know, is underlying there sometimes too. So we all have to be careful of the copyright situation when it comes to designing your bouncing, designing your gardens, your virtual gardens.

Tim (09:33.656)
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, design your own. Do your own work.

Craig (09:36.644)
Yes, yeah, design your own. can get inspiration, of course, get inspiration from other areas, know, but absolutely design your own. Meanwhile, Tim, I'll get back to you now. Yeah, you said before you had a YouTube channel, mate. Watch your YouTube channel. Links are, of course, going to be in the description. Watch your YouTube channel,

Tim (09:40.174)
Sure, sure.

Tim (09:52.302)
right. Just look for the links because Craig will provide those for you. But yeah, Minnesota boy on YouTube, you search Minnesota boy Munzee or Minnesota boy geocaching, you'll find the YouTube channel. And I've done hundreds of hundreds of videos on there, both shorts and long form videos. And I love doing it. I've slacked off a little bit recently, which I've gotten some some guff from from some people. But yeah, but

Craig (09:55.352)
Yeah.

Craig (10:02.948)
you found it.

Craig (10:09.081)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (10:18.468)
Really?

Tim (10:21.374)
You know, cause I did it weekly for more than a year and that's a tough thing to keep going. I know anybody that does content creation to do long form videos every week and it's crazy. the, the amount of time that the, due caching vlogger has done it is amazing. I don't know how he has pulled that off. Yeah.

Craig (10:23.168)
Yeah. Yeah.

It really is.

Craig (10:33.145)
Yeah.

Craig (10:39.082)
Mm-hmm.

14 years, weekly videos, long form videos for 14 years. Absolutely incredible.

Tim (10:47.078)
It is crazy what he's done, but yeah, go check out that. It's got a lot of Munzee content, a lot of geocaching content, and it's a fun, fun thing to do.

Craig (10:51.874)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

And what I like about YouTube channels too is, yeah, I like the content, Tim. I like seeing some good casters out there. I like seeing some fun Munzee play, especially when you go to events and you see the other people at the events and stuff as well. But more importantly, the reason why I follow different YouTube channels out there is the personality. I actually enjoy listening to that person, you know, discussing things or living their life, even if it's just a daily or weekly vlog per se, and see what they're part of their life. So that's why I watch that too.

Yes, Tim, and it's good to see, it was good to see your growth, your slow growth when it comes to your improvements of your video quality stuff, you know, that sort of thing too. So I enjoy yours, Tim, I really do. And I do like the good mix of yours between geocaching and Munzee stuff too. Haven't seen a Pokemon Go one there recently, but you know. Maybe that's what you have to do next is a Pokemon Go one, just saying, see? You never know, you never know.

Tim (11:25.334)
Yeah, fun stuff.

Tim (11:37.294)
Thank you.

Tim (11:43.784)
It's been a while. It's been a while since I've done a Pokemon Go content one, but.

You never know, you never know.

Craig (11:54.233)
But anyway, Tim, you said before you've been a long-term Munzee player. And when we say long-term, if no one knows this, Tim, you started playing Munzee before, that's right, before the president of Munzee started playing, Rob Vardeman, you started playing how many days before him? It was like two weeks.

Tim (11:58.253)
Yes.

Tim (12:01.827)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (12:09.154)
That? Yes.

I really don't know how many days, it's long enough so that I do have the bragging rights.

Craig (12:18.532)
Yes you do, yes you do. How long is long enough though, Tim? How long have been playing for now?

Tim (12:21.87)
How long is long enough? How long have I been? You're asking me questions I don't even know the answers to. It's been a long time. Yeah, maybe. Yeah.

Craig (12:26.724)
I don't know. I know. Was it 2014? think it was maybe, maybe around 2014. So 10 years now of Munzee play. So you're up there, Tim, you're up there, mate. I know it's hard. It is actually hard. It is hard. But anyway, Tim, you've played for a long time as a Munzee player and then all of sudden now you've come on board on the Munzee team.

Tim (12:41.248)
It's hard. It's hard.

Tim (12:51.062)
Yes, yes.

Craig (12:52.076)
What do you found is the difference between going from a Munzee player to Munzee employee? When did you really feel like, I'm not a player anymore, I'm an employee?

Tim (13:03.21)
Yeah, I was on the Munzee team for I think maybe a month or a month and a half before the yearly staff meetings happened. And we all met in Texas back in McKinney where Munzee was based. And I walked into that room in the hotel meeting room and all of you guys were already sitting around the table because I came in a little bit later from the airport and.

Craig (13:13.026)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (13:26.531)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (13:30.03)
I had met everybody in that circle, think, except for Robbie. I think Robbie was the only one I had in person before. But just to see all you guys sitting there working and then I'm sitting down and just listening to the conversations going on around that table and realizing how much work and how much mental craziness goes into creating Munzee on a day-to-day basis, coming up with new ideas, keeping the current game flowing as it should.

Craig (13:34.508)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (13:43.853)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (13:51.8)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (13:59.928)
Just all of those things and I sat down and it's like, wow, now I'm really in it now. I'm really in it. I'm on a kind of cross through the curtain. All wonderful people, all super talented people, all in their own little way, doing different jobs from Rob and Lou and Tamara and Mari and I'm gonna forget some people. Dylan and Wiley and Robbie all were there and just all of you.

Craig (14:03.492)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You're in there now. You're in it.

Craig (14:13.515)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (14:18.744)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (14:23.901)
Dylan and Wiley and yeah

Tim (14:28.392)
And just getting all of, everybody doing their own little piece of Munzee, but also working together and just stepping into that is like, yeah, I'm not just on the outside now. I'm a little bit on the inside. Yeah.

Craig (14:32.834)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (14:41.086)
Inside exactly and a good example a good example of that teamwork Tim happened right there in front of you and it happened in front of me as well and that was there was there was one thing we're coming up with new ideas and new situations and we're going through past things that we've all spoken or heard of and things I hear a lot and it comes to Munzee stuff, you know, lot of players reach out to me on social media

Some people will reach out to me in person as well at events and stuff like that too. And so I was going through my list of things that people have gone through that could be good ideas. And one of which was using Rover treats for bounces to get those bounces that are bit further away, et cetera as well. That was on my list of chats. And so I brought that up with the team and they're like, yeah, we don't do that. No, we don't. This is what we do.

Tim (15:18.008)
Yes.

Craig (15:29.476)
And then for the next 15-20 minutes, we're talking about other things. then after that, Robbie comes in and says, just to let you know, we can use Robotreats on bounces now from further out. I can push go on a test. Again, if people don't understand, we do have a testing site, is, it's mirrors. It mirrors the actual site, but it's only testing only.

So we did have it on a testing site for a while. He said it's on testing site. So we all stopped and had it play around on the testing site and it worked and fine. And he said, okay, should I push the button? I yeah, go ahead and push the button. He pushed the button to let it go. Meanwhile, Mari said, you know, well, I'll start doing the social media posts. And she did up the social media post and bam, out it went. know, something like that. small change like that can happen that fast. Other large changes like the vac, for instance, they take a long time to bring those ones out.

Tim (16:15.97)
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, and it was was amazing to see. know normally obviously Munzee people are spread all over the place. Some people are in Texas, California in England. You're down South now. I'm here in Minnesota. It is people are spread everywhere and most of the communication between staff members goes on online. In these meetings though, when everybody was just sitting around one big conference table, the speed at which things changed.

Craig (16:24.984)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (16:29.387)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (16:36.164)
Yes.

Craig (16:41.112)
Mm-hmm.

Mm hmm. Yeah, it was a lot quicker than normal. It really was. It really was. It really was. Uh, mate, as I said before, you're in shipping and production now as well. So what does that basically mean you as in shipping and production? What do do for the Munzee team?

Tim (16:46.454)
Yeah, very quick, very quick. was fun. It was a lot of fun.

Tim (16:54.263)
Yes.

Tim (16:58.986)
Right, I'm handling the day-to-day shipping of stickers, so the generic stickers that we use for the game, and then also the bringing back now the personal Munsies, which has been really cool to bring back. That's the part of the game that I missed. We had, in the past, a lot of those that were made by other folks, but that had kind of gone on the wayside through some transitions. And coming onto the team now, I told Rob, it's like, hey, I can...

Craig (17:03.598)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (17:10.881)
yes, yes.

Craig (17:20.63)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Tim (17:29.548)
The other job that I do is a production type job. in manufacturing. So this kind of fit for me. And so just, and it's like, we can bring that back. We can do that again. And now we have Whittle series one tags out, Whittle series two tags out, and plus the Nexus and the premium Personals, which is a huge change.

Craig (17:32.065)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (17:38.124)
Yeah.

Craig (17:47.245)
Mm-hmm. Yeah, absolutely. And we've also done as well, because what we do as well is that I actually handle all the artwork for those personals, et cetera, as well. So I create those. I create the Munzee QR codes on the back of them. So if one's incorrect, can blame me. Don't blame Tim. It's me. It's my fault, not Tim's. I send Tim. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Tim (17:57.983)
Yes, you do.

Tim (18:06.178)
Yeah. I do test. I do test some of them. I do test some of them just to make sure like when you send me codes for premium personals, for instance, test one to make sure they are premium codes and not some other code. But yeah, so far you're spot on, man.

Craig (18:14.164)
Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Thank you, sir. I do appreciate that. Thank you very much for that. So, but don't jinx me yet. I'm touching wood as we speak. Mate, yeah, it's a lot of work goes into it, but basically what I was going to say is that if, for instance, we've done ones whereby for individual events as well. So if you want your own, your own...

Tim (18:31.64)
Yes.

Tim (18:38.093)
Yeah.

Craig (18:41.424)
personal tags for your Munzee event, then yeah, reach out through Lou and Lou gets in contact with us and then we get designs together. And normally all it is, let's be honest, Tim, and that is, it is the, if you'll get a badge, you know, a Munzee badge for a particular event, if the event hosts have paid for the badge itself, a separate badge, then we can have those badges on, on personal too, Tim. So we can do that for the Munzee hosts and then they can then give them off to their, their attendees as a

Tim (18:43.734)
Yep. Yep.

Tim (19:03.222)
Yeah, absolutely.

Craig (19:10.604)
A nice way to say thank you for attending. like that too. Yeah, yeah. But what surprised you most, Tim, in regards to, because you said before you're in shipping and production, normal, in your real job. what, anything, any surprises here in this regards to the Munzee stuff, mate?

Tim (19:13.676)
Yeah, very, very nice.

Tim (19:21.91)
Yeah. Yep.

Tim (19:27.222)
I don't think I realized how daily it is. I don't know how many active players are in Muncie. How many active players are in Muncie Craig? you have any idea? Yeah, I don't have that in front of me. I don't have that statistic in front of me either, but what I have found out doing the shipping of stickers and personal tags is that it's so daily. Muncie is such an active community and it's all over the world, right? I mean, I'm shipping to

Craig (19:31.011)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (19:36.324)
I don't have the statistics with me.

Craig (19:46.371)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (19:51.897)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Tim (19:55.406)
countries all over the world from, I mean, I think I've shipped to every continent except Antarctica and, and just countries like sometimes I have to look at, I think I'm a pretty knowledgeable, educated guy, but sometimes I look at a country and it's like, where is that country again? I have to look it up to see where it is just for my own information. And I've shipped some stuff to places I'm like, it's crazy. Every place in the world.

Craig (19:57.849)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (20:01.63)
Yeah

Craig (20:10.167)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (20:13.828)
Yeah. Yeah.

Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm.

Tim (20:24.738)
But it's every day. literally is every day. Now, of course, here in the US, like most places around the world, there's a day of the week where mail doesn't move here at Sunday. And so I don't ship anything on that day. But other than that, I'm shipping other six days of the week, sending out stuff all over the place.

Craig (20:32.622)
Yeah.

Craig (20:39.37)
Mm-hmm. Nice, nice, nice. I'm gonna pull back the curtain a little bit on you too now, Tim. And when I say pull back the curtain, I'm saying what's something players would be shocked about or learn about how Munzee items are produced or shipped? Is there anything that people would understand? What's going on there? What's happening?

Tim (20:44.844)
Yeah, okay, okay, okay,

Tim (20:58.446)
I think most people can understand about the stickers and the tags and what they are and how that probably happens. So nothing surprising there. But what most people don't know probably is that I do this in the early morning. I get up and I look at the emails from Shopify the day before to send out where they're going and what they are. I do that in my pajamas.

Craig (21:02.818)
Yeah. Yeah.

Craig (21:09.006)
Yeah.

Craig (21:14.338)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (21:20.42)
Well, I'm hoping you actually got physical pajamas on because some people wear their pajamas as their birthday suit. I'm hoping Tim. Very good. Very good. Very good. Because as always, we record this nice and early as well. Wow. I just had a horrible, horrible image. But anyway, that's just my own fault. We have.

Tim (21:24.782)
No, no, no. do have physical pajamas on. I'm wearing them right now while we're recording this podcast. Yes, we do.

Tim (21:42.722)
No, no, no, no. Hey, we've stayed together. You've seen me in my pajamas. Yeah.

Craig (21:45.603)
We have, exactly, exactly. I've seen Joshua in his pajamas too, but anyway, we won't even go there. Mate, you said about shipping and production sort of stuff too, but talking about shipping now, any challenges for you in regards to the shipping? What's the trickiest part of getting the manzies out there to the world?

Tim (21:54.22)
Yeah. Yeah.

Tim (22:02.698)
Yeah, I mean I'm I'm live I live in Minnesota as is clear from my name and from what we've talked about already So shipping everything from here around the world You know, I do everything through the United States Postal Service and most of the stuff I ship is envelopes That's pretty easy. You put some postage on them a few packages depending on how many tags you order or if you order a cappy for instance a plushie cappy I can send you one of those and

Craig (22:06.457)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (22:09.892)
you

Craig (22:20.942)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (22:26.902)
Yeah. Mm-hmm. That's right.

Tim (22:31.926)
So you got to make up a package to do that. Well, what happens when I ship around the world, of course, is the US postal service has to hand those items off to whatever postal services in that country. And most of the time that works just great, but the problems are we can't really track that once it hands off to another country. It's really not trackable unless you want to spend a lot more money to ship it. So that's a tricky thing. So you really just.

Craig (22:41.9)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (22:50.084)
yeah.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Tim (23:01.486)
trusting. And I suppose the reverse is true as well. If you're sending something into the United States, they're trusting our postal service. So that's the way it is.

Craig (23:02.496)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (23:08.8)
Yes. And I will say personal, I have got a bit of paperwork recently lost from the U S postal service. just going from Alabama to New Jersey and, they can't even track it. They can't even, they don't even know where it's gone. And I'm talking, I'm talking special, special, like one of a kind documents that it's going to take me months to get redo and get them back again. So I know anyway, that's, that's

Tim (23:17.902)
Yeah, it can happen. can happen.

Special special stuff.

Tim (23:33.998)
That's too bad. I feel for you.

Craig (23:37.41)
That's a US postal service issue, not a Munzee production and shipping issue.

Tim (23:42.222)
Correct, correct. I have the process that we've developed for I receive emails from Shopify, which is where people make online orders. And it's pretty easy to just go through that and pick out what I need to pick out and put it in the proper packaging and send it off. So I'm glad to do it.

Craig (23:50.324)
Mm-hmm. Yep.

Craig (23:57.764)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm. Yep. Yep. Yep. Now you said, Tim, as well, you do this pretty much daily now as well when it comes to the stickers and some tags and what-to. What about when things happen? Like, you know, I'll give you a whole heap, Tim, of like the Whittles One or Whittles Two, et cetera. Do people jump on board really quick or do they spread themselves out over the few days to actually, yeah?

Tim (24:05.814)
Yes.

Tim (24:14.754)
Yeah.

Tim (24:22.134)
A little bit of both, but right at first right at first in the first 24 to 48 hours. If we put out a new set of of tags, there are numerous Munzee players around the world that will order that complete set. Of tags, all of them.

Craig (24:34.212)
The whole lot. don't just... Widdell series too, they don't just order like, their favorite one. No, they order the whole set.

Tim (24:41.26)
No, no, no, no, no. Yeah, there's a lot of players that will order that complete set. And you know what I think is pushing those sales is the Nexus Munzee.

Craig (24:45.774)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (24:50.884)
yes, because that's so good too. What's your personal opinion on the Nexus team as well?

Tim (24:53.932)
because. I love it because if anybody's gone to a Munzee event and you've seen the table where everybody brings their personal Munzee tags and they lay them out and everybody's sitting there capping one after another after another after another after another. It can be tedious and but there's a lot of points available so people will still do it. But what the Nexus Munzees does is that player now has that Nexus Munzee tag on their account.

Craig (25:00.473)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (25:04.003)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (25:08.6)
Yeah. Tedious.

Craig (25:14.272)
Absolutely.

Tim (25:23.598)
They attach all of their personals to that one tag. They only have to carry that one tag. They could wear it on their shirt if they want. People can just scan that one tag and they get all the points for all of their personals. As long as you're a premium player.

Craig (25:26.257)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Yeah,

That's right. And as long as you're a premium player and at the same time, say, for instance, Tim, you've got your Nexus and your brother, for instance, sees you on this on a Sunday, a non event day, he can still he can still scan your Nexus, even if he scanned it the day before and he still gets points from the Nexus like a normal personal. see? Yeah. So you say the Nexus is still classed as an actual personal. Some people don't know that. And they go, know, it's That's right.

Tim (25:57.944)
Right.

Tim (26:01.632)
Yeah, and it'll and it'll and it will just pick up whatever new personals you've added to it since the last time that player captain.

Craig (26:08.408)
That's right. And if you haven't added any personal to it, still cap it because it's still points either way. It's not a one and done. Exactly. It's not a one and done thing. That's right. That's right. but we've got a lot of play feedback from that too. They really, really enjoyed that. that apps aspect of said too, and the next especially, I can't think of his name now. Wow. It's I've lost my brain and way of thought. That's incredible. Munzee Prof. That's right. Munzee Prof. He loves it cause he's got a thousand personals. He does.

Tim (26:12.032)
Yeah, it's really been a big thing.

Tim (26:21.292)
Yeah.

Tim (26:31.924)
Yeah. He does so many, many, many,

Craig (26:37.834)
He does, he has a lot. But yeah, so we've got good feedback from that. What about other feedback in regards to your shipping and production? Any complaints, comments or inquiries about how do you handle it? How do you handle it?

Tim (26:48.04)
So far, I have not received complaints. General Munzee complaints tend to flow through my good friend, C. Michel.

Craig (26:52.611)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (26:57.555)
Yes, they do. Yes, they do. And I'm talking daily. And I've got a top five players, the top five players. Yeah, at least once a week for the top five players. And sometimes I will say though, I'm not, I'm very accepting of them. So sometimes they're, they're not complaining. Sometimes they are credit towards me. Sometimes they're ideas, you know, that sort of thing. So I'm, yeah.

Tim (27:05.602)
Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah.

Tim (27:17.75)
Right. Sometimes good ideas come from those complaints.

Craig (27:20.128)
Absolutely, absolutely. And one of those good ideas was what we just spoke about and that was the using Rover treats to cap bounces too far away. So that was one of the ideas that came through. Really, really cool. Meanwhile, Tim as well, I'm gonna ask you what's your favorite thing to actually handle? What's your favorite item that you love the most?

Tim (27:29.29)
that's good. Yep.

Tim (27:39.788)
Right, I think we talked a little bit about this question already while we were handling the other questions. Just the return of the personal Munzee tags I think is huge. I think it's a really fun part of the game. It adds a lot to events and gives players the possibility of being able to sit in one spot if you're not as mobile that day. Sometimes people show up to events if they're not able to walk around. Maybe they've had an injury or maybe that day they're not feeling all that well or.

Craig (27:42.722)
Yep. Yeah. yeah.

Craig (28:03.79)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Tim (28:09.336)
you know, whatever the reason is, you might just want to sit at the event and chat with people. But while you're doing that, you can cap personal moneys. And I think it's such a, it's such a cool part of the game. This game is so virtual most of the time, and this is just another way of making it a little more connected and physical. Yeah.

Craig (28:13.792)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (28:20.554)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (28:27.364)
Absolutely. Just before we finish up too, I've got a couple more things on my mind, Tim. One is any horror stories for me. Anything's happened to you from the production and shipping side of things where you go, man.

Tim (28:40.07)
Yeah, I hope that I haven't made any mistakes myself yet. When I took over shipping these items, the current return address for these items was a PO box in California.

Craig (28:43.971)
Yeah.

Craig (28:57.07)
yes, of course.

Tim (28:58.626)
Yes, and I didn't have access to that. And of course I'm in Minnesota, it's halfway across the United States from here. And so I got Rob to say like, hey, can we get a local PO box that I can monitor so that if there's a shipping issue with any of the mail or packages I send out, they'll come directly back to me. Then I can deal with them quicker. Well, one of the things that happened in that transition time is that

Craig (29:11.715)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (29:25.228)
we realized that there was a bunch of mail sitting in California, including some stuff, know, envelopes and stuff that had been sent out. People are waiting for their stickers and they're just sitting because they got returned for whatever reason, a bad address or I don't know, whatever the reason was. And thankfully through the hard work of one of our coworkers, Tamara, searching out these players. Once I had the mail, I sent her all that information and she,

Craig (29:28.371)
still wow.

Craig (29:33.08)
Yeah.

Craig (29:39.234)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (29:48.77)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Tim (29:54.734)
was able to contact each and every player, either through email or messaging or even through the game itself, through the messaging in game, to contact players and get a solid address. Most of the time it was just because there was a mistake in the address. And so get that stuff back to them. And that really is something that I hope doesn't happen again. Now that I'm doing this daily and every day I go to the post office to drop off mail, I check the PO box. So if something comes back,

Craig (29:56.866)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (30:01.077)
Yeah. Yep.

Craig (30:10.232)
Yeah.

Craig (30:15.683)
Yeah.

Craig (30:21.954)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Tim (30:24.65)
I'm on it right away and able to fix it.

Craig (30:27.118)
Perfect mate, perfect. Yeah, and we all do appreciate that. All the players do appreciate that as well because we all, as soon as we order, we like to have it, it's not Amazon, we can't have it there the next day. know, that's something. But the quicker the better in some cases, especially when comes to the actual generic stickers too. Because sometimes we don't order them until we've run out. We don't realize that we're running slow and we go, no, I'm out of stickers and I need to replace that.

Tim (30:35.776)
No.

Tim (30:41.9)
Yep. Yep.

Craig (30:50.148)
that cruisy for instance so I can get in there and Grab my extra points, you know and fulfill my my clan war stuff too. But anyway, mate they're speaking of advice Players first and foremost make sure your addresses are good by the sounds of things But number two, what else what else can you give any advice out there for it? Yep

Tim (30:54.051)
Yeah.

Tim (31:04.546)
Yes.

Tim (31:09.048)
Well, plan ahead. Make sure your address and your name and everything is perfect when you enter it online so that when I send it to that address, it's going to get there. Also, if you happen to be going to an event where I am going to be, you can buy your stuff directly from me at an event. Stickers and personal tags. Yep.

Craig (31:17.153)
Yep.

Craig (31:22.659)
Mm-hmm.

wow. There you go. event. Stickers and personal tags. it's better off with like a, you got tap to pay or you got credit card details. What happens?

Tim (31:36.82)
Absolutely. Yep, it's electronic payment only, no cash. I don't want to handle cash and try to figure out how to get that back to Munzee. That's something I want to do. So yes, electronic payment only and I can just use my phone. You just tap right on there and boom, you're off. Yep.

Craig (31:40.767)
Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah.

No.

Craig (31:52.814)
Boom, goes straight to Munzee. Exactly. Perfect, mate, perfect. Any other, excuse me, any other advice you want to give to players before we finish up, mate? No, that's it. That's all that's done. I think we've covered everything. Yeah, yeah. Well, speaking of you all and Tim, and you don't know this yet because we pre-record this, but we do have a brand new Boxing Day sale out there in the world, is in the Munzee world.

Tim (32:03.274)
No, think that's, think we've covered everything from my end that they need to do. Yeah.

Tim (32:15.361)
Whoa!

Craig (32:17.858)
Boxing day, you are from the USA and you don't know what Boxing Day is, Boxing Day is the day after Christmas Day. The rest of the world celebrates Boxing Day like it's your Black Friday, basically. Yeah, so there you go. I'm educating the US as well, Tim, as well.

Tim (32:22.84)
Yeah, yeah.

Tim (32:27.518)
I see, yeah.

Tim (32:32.034)
Yeah, yeah, sometimes we are a little off the rest of the world. That's true. Just different.

Craig (32:35.076)
No, no, it's just different. It's just different. Not off, just different. And I'm happy with different. Exactly. But yeah, check out the store for all the sales and a lot of those sales include physical items as well. So let's keep Tim busy over this busy holiday period because, you know, he snowed in in Minnesota. So he's got nothing better to do. Nothing better to do than fulfill Munzee orders and still have to go out to the post office to post them. So there you go.

Tim (32:48.302)
Yeah.

Tim (32:52.194)
There is a lot of snow here.

Tim (32:59.351)
Yes.

Craig (33:00.674)
Mate, I'm gonna finish up. I don't have any more questions for you. I don't have a Munzee request for you, but we do do a tip of the week. And I thought to myself, you know, this is perfect, Tim. You're a player first, just like me. What is the Munzee tip of the week for this week before we head into 2026,

Tim (33:06.063)
yeah.

Tim (33:11.67)
Yeah, yes, yes.

Tim (33:16.622)
Well, as I talked about before, I've been to a couple of really cold weather events here in Minnesota recently and a tip that I got from another player a few years ago, and I don't know why I had thought of this earlier, was you're out in that freezing cold weather and when it's below zero, your fingers get cold fast, fast, fast. Of course, you have to use your phone to play Munzee, right? I mean, it's an app. So...

Craig (33:22.872)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (33:36.237)
Yeah

Craig (33:40.116)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Tim (33:43.094)
You want to get a stylus so that you can keep your gloves or mittens on your hands. Use that stylus to play the game. So I met this event just this last Sunday. Numbers of Minnesota Munzeers show up. It's a great event. Put on by W. Helen and Lesh family. And also hosted by myself and Gravity Bear just as an aside. They put out the flags and everything, so they did all the work. Great to them.

Craig (33:45.508)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (33:58.915)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (34:03.488)
nice.

Craig (34:07.363)
Mm-hmm.

Tim (34:13.038)
So we're out walking this path, capping the Munsies. And I see that the GCP, the Jew Keshen vlogger, he has got his hands out and his fingers look cold. I said, Josh, would you like a stylus? I brought a small bag of them. I just bought a bag of them on Amazon. So I had a bag in my pocket. Yeah, would you like a stylus? He goes, oh, that would be great.

Craig (34:23.044)
Blue.

Craig (34:32.558)
Yeah, for like two bucks.

Tim (34:38.99)
So he used it, loved it, right? Loved it. He could keep his gloves on, keep his fingers warm. So afterwards, a few of us go to Punch Pizza and have a nice after-monthly event pizza. Josh hands me the stylus and I said, oh no, Josh, you can keep that. It didn't cost me hardly anything. You can keep it. I've got a bunch of them. He goes, well, if you keep it, you'll bring it back the next time at another event and I'll be able to use it again.

Craig (34:40.704)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (34:48.0)
Mmm... Nice.

Craig (34:55.993)
Yeah.

Craig (34:59.577)
Yeah.

Craig (35:04.864)
Ha!

Hahaha

Tim (35:09.41)
But if I keep it, I'm going to lose it. And I won't have it. So I said, so you want me to keep your things for you and bring them back to another event?

Craig (35:11.812)
Yeah

Craig (35:17.74)
or you and bring him for you. He said, yes, I do. If anyone knows the geocaching blogger Josh, we end, especially with his geocaching stuff as well. He never has a pen. He always forgets his pen. So now he forgets his Munzee stylus. So yeah, that's right. That's right. That's right.

Tim (35:21.782)
Yes, yes he does.

Yeah.

Tim (35:33.174)
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so now he won't, because I've got it. So I'll have it with me. have it. I'm willing to do that.

Craig (35:43.924)
It's a shame. It's a shame. And I've, I have looked through, cause I do a lot of the Shopify things. put the Munzee physical items out there as well. yeah, there is no stylus, in Shopify that I can actually Munzeeify, stylus and put that in the store, but unfortunately that's all it is. So meanwhile, unfortunately, Rob, this ends another official Munzee podcast.

Tim (35:50.487)
Yes.

Tim (35:56.572)
yeah.

Tim (36:01.966)
Ha

Tim (36:05.996)
